2010 - ediția 1

Prima ediţie a fost organizată în anul universitar 2009-2010 şi de atunci a rămas tradiţie ca studenţii Facultăţii de Inginerie Managerială şi Tehnologică, departamentul de Robotică și Mecatronică să organizeze împreună cu profesorii Departamentului de Mecatronică, concursul de roboţi mobili autonomi.

Fiind prima initiativă din Oradea de a ține un concurs de robotică, numărul participantilor a fost modest, 6 echipe locale au concurat la singura proba de atunci, și anume proba Line Follower.

Caștigătorii concursului au fost:

1. Kallai Csaba
2. Nagy Istvan

2011 - ediția a 2-a

Evenimentul a căpătat o inerție suficientă să devină un eveniment anual. Organizarea ediției a doua a fost facută de către studentul Cornea Mihai împreună cu domnul Prof.dr.ing.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin și alți profesori ai departamentului de Robotică și Mecatronică a Facultății de Inginerie Managerială și Tehnologică.

La a doua ediţie, succesul a continuat cu o creştere a numărului de sponsori şi participanţi din care 9 echipe au fost omologate pentru proba de Line Follower.

2012 - ediția a 3-a

La a treia ediție, studentul Cornea Mihai împreună cu domnul Prof.dr.ing.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin și alți profesori ai departamentului de Robotică și Mecatronică a Facultății de Inginerie Managerială și Tehnologică au organizat prima ediție cu participanți internaționali.

În data de 31 martie 2012, de la ora 11, la Biblioteca Universităţii din Oradea (UO) s-a desfăşurat concursul internaţional de roboţi mobili numit în vremea respectivă "Line-follower".

Aceasta a fost prima ediție în care concursul de roboți orădean a devenit internațional, cu participanţi din mai multe centre Universitare din ţară, și inclusiv din Ungaria.

Pe lângă participanți de la numeroase facultăți, această ediție a reușit să inspire și generațiile mai tinere în robotică, drept urmare am avut prima echipă cu participanți din liceu, și anume de la liceul Don Orione din Oradea.

Echipele participante au reprezentat insituțiile: Universitatea Politehnica Bucureşti, Universitatea "Traian Vuia" din Timişoara, Universitatea din Debrecen, Universitatea din Oradea şi liceul Don Orione din Oradea. 

Din partea Universităţii din Oradea au concurat 7 echipe (de la specializările de Robotică și Calculatoare). 

Din numarul total de 21 de echipe înscrise au fost omologate 17 echipe.

Primele 6 echipe clasate au fost următoarele:

2013 - ediția a 4-a

Ediţia din anul universitar 2012-2013, a avut o creştere în complexitatea traseului cât şi a caracteristicilor roboţilor de la participanţii din anii anteriori. De asemenea, numărul participanţilor de la liceu a crescut ajungând la aproximativ 8 echipe.

Evenimentul a fost ținut in incinta Bibliotecii Universității din Oradea.

Organizarea și desfășurarea concursului a fost făcută de către studentul Cornea Mihai împreună cu domnul Prof.dr.ing.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin și alți profesori ai departamentului de Robotică și Mecatronică a Facultății de Inginerie Managerială și Tehnologică.
 

2014 - ediția a 5-a

Ediția a 5-a a fost prima ediție în care concursul a adopat numele de Robot Challenge Oradea împreună cu primul logo oficial al concursului. Organizarea concursului a fost preluată de stundeții Birouaș Flaviu și Nilgesz Arnold, studenți în anul patru al Facultății de Inginerie Managerială și Tehnologică, profilul Roboți Industriali. Ei împreuna cu domnul Prof.dr.ing.ec. ȚARCĂ Radu Cătălin și alți profesori ai facultății I.M.T. au organizat prima ediție în care au fost introduse probele de Line Follower Enhanced și Mini Sumo.

Concursul s-a desfășurat în data de 12 aprilie 2014, la Biblioteca Universității din Oradea. Fiind singura competiţie de roboţi din județul Bihor, a atras numeroși concurenți atât din Bucureşti, Craiova, Suceava cât și echipe din Oradea.

La proba de Line Follower Classic următorele echipe au ocupat podiumul caștigătorilor:

1. Echipa Prodigy formată din elevii: Eduard Mihok şi Brendon Kovacs de la Liceul Don Orione din Oradea.
2. Echipa HBFS II formată din studenţii: Cristian Dobre, Mihai Crăciunescu şi Andrei Duluţă de la Facultatea de Automatică şi Calculatoare din Bucureşti
3. Echipa Cârpici formată din studenţii: Flaviu Birouaş şi Arnold Nilgesz de la Facultatea I.M.T. din Oradea.

La proba de Line Follower Enhanced următorele echipe au ocupat podiumul caștigătorilor:

1. Echipa Prodigy formată din elevii: Eduard Mihok şi Brendon Kovacs de la Liceul Don Orione
2. Echipa Cârpici formată din studenţii: Flaviu Birouaş şi Arnold Nilgesz de la Facultatea I.M.T. Din Oradea
3. Echipa HBFS I formată din studenţii: Cristian Dobre, Mihai Crăciunescu şi Andrei Duluţă de la Facultatea de Automatică şi Calculatoare din Bucureşti.

La proba de Mini Sumo următorele echipe au ocupat podiumul caștigătorilor:

1. Echipa Ragnar formată din studenţii: Alexandru Sorea şi Ovidiu Bizinic de la Facultatea de Inginerie in Limbi Străine din Bucureşti
2. Echipa Thrill formată din studenţii: Călin Constantin şi Constantin Craifoleanu de la Facultatea de Inginerie în Limbi Străine din Bucureşti

De asemenea, s-a acordat un premiu de originalitate pentru echipa FIM – Tronic formată din studenţii Daniel Cenuşă şi Roman Pănuţă de la Universitatea din Suceava „Ştefan cel Mare” - Facultatea de Inginerie Mecanică, Mecatronică şi Management, pentru dezvoltarea unor aplicaţii de comunicare şi programare în timp real a robotului prin smartphone.

Trebuie menționat faptul că, desfăşurarea acestei competiţii nu ar fi fost posibilă fără sprijinul sponsorilor, şi anume, a partenerului principal PLEXUS, care a fost alături de echipa de organizare de-a lungul acestui proiect, cât și a celorlați sponsori care au contribuit financiar: Celestica, Connect Group, Signum şi Carpatronics.

Evenimentul a avut un real succes în rândul participanților, stârnind interesul viitorilor studenți să urmeze o profesie tehnică, cu speranța ca tinerii spectatori de azi să fie concurenţii de mâine. Pentru ediţia următoare, organizatorii au o viziune ambițioasă şi urmăresc în continuare o creştere în populartitate şi în numărul de participanţi, venind cu idei și probe adiţionale.
 

2017 - ediția a 7-a

Ediția a 7-a a fost organizată în mallul Lotus. Am strâns 117 pariticipanți, am făcut un traseu de maze în 7 ore iar toată interacțiunea dintre public/copii și organizatori a fost foarte interactivă, ceea ce ne-a bucurat. Majoritatea participanților erau noi fiindcă nu aveau experiență. Tot în acest an s-a format și echipa TOR. La workshopuri au venit 113 persoane din care 78 au primit diplomă pentru participarea la aproape toate cele 6.
 

2018 - ediția a 8-a

Am ajuns să strângem 10 probe de competiție și peste 150 de participanți. 2018 este anul în care am avut 20 de concurenți din Mongolia. Au călătorit mai mult de o zi doar pentru a participa la probele Line Follower LEGO și Line Follower Junior. Am reușit să adunăm iubitori de robotică din toate colțurile țării, până și din Ungaria și Mongolia. Le mulțumim în special sponsorilor fără care nu am fi putut realiza o ediție atât de bună! Ce credeți că va aduce ediția următoare?
 

2019 - ediția a 9-a

Ca de fiecare dată, numărul concurenților a crescut semnificativ. Am fost 230 de entuziaști din multe colțuri ale României care au dus acasă premiile noastre. Clubul de robotică sponsorizat în totalitate de CELESTICA are un succes printre orădeni, ceea ce ne bucură foarte tare. Nu uitați că ne revedem în 2020, iar Robotics Club Oradea vă așteaptă în fiecare joi de la 16 și 18! 

2010 - 1st edition

Was held in the 2009-2010 university year. It remained a tradition for the students in the Robotics and Mechatronics departments of the Faculty of Managerial and Tehnological Engineering to organize together with the teachers of the Mechatronics department the autonomous mobile robots competition.
 

Being the first initiative in Oradea to hold a robotics competition, the number of participants was a modest one, only six local teams took part at the only challenge we had, the Line Follower challenge.
 

The winners of this competition were:

2011 - 2nd edition

The competition gained enough inertia to become an anual event.  The 2nd edition was organized by the student Cornea Mihai, togheter with Prof.dr.eng.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin and other teachers from the Robotics and Mechatronics departments of the the Faculty of Managerial and Tehnological Engineering. 

At the second edition, the success continued with a growth in the number of participants and sponsors, with nine team being omologated for the Line Follower challange.

2012 - 3rd edition

At the third edition, the student Cornea Mihai togheter with Prof.dr.eng.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin and other teachers from the Robotics and Mechatronics departments of the Faculty of Managerial and Tehnological Engineering, organized the first international edition with international participants.
 

On the 31st of March 2012, at 11:00 AM, at the library of the University of Oradea, the competition named “Line-Follower” took part.

This was the first edition in which the robotics competition held in Oradea, became international, with participants from multiple universitary centers from our country, as well as Hungary. 

Besides having participants from numerous universities, this edition managed to inspire younger generations towards robotics, causing the first high school students to take part in the competions. The students came from the ‘Don Orione’ high school in Oradea.
 

The participating teams represented the following institutes: The politechnic university in Bucharest, The ‘Traian Vuia’ university in Timisoara, Debrecen University, Oradea University and ‘Don Orione’ Oradea High school.
 

From the University of Oradea departments (from the Robotics and Computers departments), 7 teams participated. 

There were 21 initially entered in the competition, 17 of which were succesfully omologated and took part.

 
The first six placements were taken by the following teams:

1. Team SPOTT, Politechnics university in Bucharest;
2. Team ATOM, Politechnics university in Bucharest;
3. Team TROLL, Politechnics university in Bucharest;
4. Team COSMIN, University of Oradea;
5. Team COSTIN & ANCA, University of Oradea;

2013 - 4th edition

The 2012-2013 edition had a increase in the complexity of the circuits, as well as the characteristics of robots, compared to the previous years. Besides these, the number of high school students grew to 8 teams.
 

The competition took place in the Library at the University of Oradea.
 

2014 - 5th edition

 The 5th edition was the first edition where the competition adopted the name Robot Challenge Oradea together with the first official logo for the competition. The organisation aspect of the competition was taken over by students Birouaș Flaviu and Nilgesz Arnold, students in their 4th year at the faculty of Managerial and Tehnological Engineering, with the specialisation Industrial Robot. Togheter with Prof.dr.eng.ec. Țarcă Radu Cătălin and other teachers from the Robotics and Mechatronics departments of the the Faculty of Managerial and Tehnological Engineering, introduced for the first time the Line Follower Enhanced and Mini Sumo challenges.
 

The competition took place on the 12th of April 2014, at the Library of University of Oradea. Being the only competion of robotics in Bihor county, it attracted numerous partipants from Bucharest, Craiova, Suceava, as well as teams from Oradea.
 

At the Line Follower Classic challenge, the following teams occupied the winners podium:

1. Team Prodigy formed by the students: Eduard Mihok and Brendon Kovacs, from the “Don Orione” High school in Oradea.
2. Team HBFS II formed by the students: Cristian Dobre, Mihai Crăciunescu and Andrei Duluță, from the Faculty of Automatics and Computers, Bucharest.
3. Team Cârpici formed by the students: Flaviu Birouș, Arnold Nilgesz from the Faculty of IMT, Oradea.

At the “Line Follower Enhanced” test the following teams occupied the podium of winners:

1. Team Prodigy formed of the pupils: Eduard Mihok and Brendon Kovacs from “Don Orione” High school, Oradea
2. Team Cârpici formed of the students: Flaviu Birouaş and Arnold Nilgesz from I.M.T Faculty, Oradea
3. Team HBFS I formed of the students: Cristian Dobre, Mihai Crăciunescu and Andrei Duluţă from Faculty of Automatics and Computers, Bucharest.

At the “Mini Sumo” test, the following teams occupied the podium of winners:

On top of that, a special prize has been awarded to the team ‘FIM – Tronic’ for originality. The team was formed by the students Daniel Cenușă and Roman Pănuță from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics „Ștefan cel Mare”, Suceava. The special prize was awarded for the development of applications based on communication and programming of robots in real time, using a smartphone.

It should also be mentioned the fact that the competition was made possible by the support offered by our sponsors, our main sponsor being PLEXUS. They were supporting the organizing team the whole duration of the project, as well as financial aid from other sponsors. They were: Celestica, Connect Group, Signum and Carpatronics.

The event was a real success among the participants, stirring up the interest of future students to follow up on a technical profession, with hope that the young viewers of today, will become the challengers and participants of tomorrow. 

For the upcoming editions, our organizers have an ambitious vision and they are looking forward to a popularity increase, as well as participants, while coming up with new ideas and new and additional challenges.
 

2018 - 8th edition

We now have 10 categories and over 150 participants. 2018 is the year when we had 20 competitors from Mongolia. They traveled more than a day just to attend the Line Follower LEGO and Line Follower Junior categories. We have managed to gather robotic lovers from all over the country, even from Hungary and Mongolia. We particularly thank sponsors without whom we could not have made such a good edition! What do you think the next edition will bring?
 

2019 - 9th edition

As always, the number of competitors has increased significantly. We were 230 enthusiasts from many corners of Romania who took home our prizes. The robotics club fully sponsored by CELESTICA is a success among the locals, which we are very happy about. Remember to see you again in 2020, and Robotics Club Oradea is waiting for you every Thursday from 16 and 18!
